Collaboration shoot with designer Jess Grech for her Final Major Project.
Jess Grech is a fashion design graduate from the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). We sat down with her to hear about her Final Major Project, giving tips on how she stays motivated and driven throughout the making of her collection.
It was when Jess first started Secondary school that fashion really came into play with her. She was raised before this on sports direct clothes and other sportswear stores. She says that fashion was a huge importance at her school, she found that other children wear starting to go bolder with their fashion choices and jess viewed this as a perfect way for people to express themselves individually. She because o caught up in it that she would obsess over the latest trend, the Pauls Boutoque handbag craze for one. She leaned that fashion was a way she could stand out from here piers and have fun.
SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THIS EMERGING DESIGNER
If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would say the Harry Potter series, in particular the goblit of fire, I am Potter obsessed.
If you could be reborn to live in a certain era which era would it be?
Probably the Victorian era, I loved that their fashion was so different, they were defiantly into extreme fashion and experimenting.
Finish the sentence ‘I am happiest when?....
Definatly the feeling i get after all my work if finalized and goes well, when I see all of my final garments together.

Previous to Jess's studies at AUB, she has been enrolled into Fashion Retail Academy where she studies a level 4 diploma in Fashion Design. FRA help solidify her passion for the path he was headed towards. She was taught over the two years the same way a degree course is laid out. She learned sewing, pattern cutting, illustrations and design, history of fashion and marketing. These all became invaluable to her when she went on to study at AUB as she already had the fundamental foundation which you need as a designer. She also learned vital industry tips, how to conduct a proper interview and present in front of a clients, this shown through pitching her white shirt projects to M&S, Rapha and Sweaty Betty.
